17 November 2023
On November 16 and 17, at the Nature Education Center in Ląd, workshops dedicated to climate advisors working on the project “Life After Coal PL – Implementation of the Strategy for Climate Neutrality” were held. Eastern Wielkopolska 2040.

Climate advisors are highly qualified municipal and district employees who will help, among other things, obtain subsidies in the field of energy transformation. The topic of the workshops concerned the Energy Consulting Project and sources of financing for pro-ecological investments, therefore, at the invitation of UMWW, they were conducted by energy advisors of the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Poznań.

The Nature Education Center of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship Landscape Park Complex in Ląd is located in a restored, historic manor house, located on the edge of the Warta Landscape Park.

The first day of the workshops was officially opened by: Mr. Jacek Bogusławski – member of the Board of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship, Mr. Artur Miętkiewicz – mayor of the Lądek Commune, Mr. Maciej Sytek – president of the Regional Development Agency in Konin, Ms. Marzena Andrzejewska-Wierzbicka – director of the Department of Environmental Management and Climate UMWW and Ms. Dorota Kinast – head of the Nature Education Center in Ląd.

Everyone received laptops that will be used for their work and will facilitate tasks performed in the field during contacts with residents. The mobility of climate advisors is particularly important because, as part of the “Life After Coal PL” project, they will prepare, among other things, simplified energy audits of buildings, which will help determine needs and forecast the effects of thermal modernization.

During two intensive days of workshops, advisors were trained by employees of the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Poznań in the following programs: Energy for Rural Areas, Agroenergy, Warm Housing, Clean Air, My Heat, My Electricity, Energy Consulting Project.

On the second day of the workshops, there was also training on the principles of keeping accounting records of the Life After Coal PL project.

In addition to education, the workshops were a good opportunity for integration between climate advisors and the coordinator’s project team, which is the Greater Poland Voivodeship. As befits naturalists, regardless of weather conditions, workshop participants took part in field games organized by employees of the Nature Education Center.

The workshops in Ląd are just the beginning of the education of advisors who will soon begin specialized studies. Their commitment and active participation is pleasing, and the knowledge acquired will certainly be used in future work.
