This guide was written mainly for entrepreneurs operating in Eastern Greater Poland, covering the area of Kolski, Konin, Słupecki and Turek counties and the City of Konin. Such an audience stems from at least two considerations. The first is the provisions of the “Strategy for Climate Neutrality of Eastern Wielkopolska 2040,” a document defining the policy of the Local Government of the Wielkopolska Region aimed at achieving EU climate goals at the regional level, resulting directly from EU documents, primarily such as: European Green Deal, Package: Ready for 55, Clean Planet and Hydrogen Strategy for a Climate Neutral Europe.
The second is the project “LIFE AFTER COAL PL – Implementation of the Strategy for Climate Neutrality of Eastern Wielkopolska 2040”, implemented with funding from the LIFE Program of the European Union and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, is a tool for effective implementation of the Strategy’s goals. The project is consistent with the concept of the Eastern Wielkopolska fair transition process in the context of the fight against global warming and climate change. An important aspect will therefore be to bet on climate-neutral energy carriers and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as well as improve energy efficiency. In contrast, the overarching goal is to achieve by 2040. climate-neutrality of Eastern Wielkopolska – in the process of equitable transformation, also taking into account the needs of social groups at risk of exclusion and marginalization. The project’s partners are primarily, local government units of the aforementioned part of Wielkopolska province.
