On June 30 this year, the University of Life Sciences in Pozna\u0144 hosted the graduation ceremony for the postgraduate course entitled \u201cClimate neutrality management in local government,\u201d dedicated in particular to Climate Advisors employed as part of the LIFE AFTER COAL PL Project in municipal and county governments in Eastern Greater Poland, i.e., in five counties: Ko\u0142o, Konin, S\u0142upca, Turek, and M. Konin, as well as in Kalisz, Ostr\u00f3w Wielkopolski, W\u0105growiec, and the \u0141\u00f3d\u017a Province. In addition, employees of other local governments in Greater Poland who expressed a desire to improve their skills in climate neutrality management participated in the postgraduate studies. These studies were fully financed by the Local Government of the Greater Poland Province from the funds of the LIFE AFTER COAL PL Project. <\/p>\n\n

As emphasized by Jacek Bogus\u0142awski, Member of the Board of the Wielkopolska Province, these studies are unique and innovative in nature and are intended to build a team of professional civil servants capable of meeting the challenges arising from the Eastern Wielkopolska Climate Neutrality Strategy 2040 and the challenges of EU climate policy aimed at building resilience and energy independence based on innovation and competitiveness of enterprises.<\/p>\n\n

The graduates were accompanied at the graduation ceremony by, among others, Prof. Piotr \u015al\u00f3sarz, Vice-Rector for Studies at the University of Life Sciences in Pozna\u0144, Prof. Anna Szymczak-Graczyk, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, Marzena Andrzejewska-Wierzbicka, Director of the Department of Environmental and Climate Management at the Marshal’s Office of the Wielkopolska Region, with the management team of the LIFE AFTER COAL PL project, and lecturers.<\/p>\n\n

The graduates received congratulations on completing their studies and recognition for their commitment and active participation in classes. They were then presented with their postgraduate diplomas. <\/p>\n\n

During two semesters, 60 postgraduate students had the opportunity to acquire or deepen their knowledge of climate neutrality management. The students acquired skills and improved their competences in the field of new technologies in the area of renewable energy sources, energy modernization of buildings, sources of pollution, assessment of the most economically viable pro-environmental investments, principles of conducting energy audits, and methods of preparing integrated plans for energy, transport, and climate in local governments. Climate Advisors, on the other hand, prepared county and municipal integrated plans for climate, energy, and transport. <\/p>\n\n

Once again, we would like to congratulate all graduates.<\/p>\n\n
