On December 6 this year, the University of Life Sciences in Pozna\u0144 hosted the inauguration of a postgraduate course entitled \u201cManaging Climate Neutrality in Local Government\u201d dedicated to Climate Advisors employed by the LIFE AFTER COAL PL Project in the municipal and county governments of Eastern Wielkopolska, i.e. from the five counties of Kolski, Konin, Slupecki, Turek and M. Konin, as well as in Kalisz, Ostrow Wielkopolski, W\u0105growiec and Lodz Province <\/strong>. In addition, the postgraduate program is attended by employees of other local governments in the Greater Poland area who have expressed a desire to improve their competence in climate neutrality management.<\/p>\n\n

As part of the postgraduate studies, which are fully financed by the Local Government of the Wielkopolska Region from project funds, 60 employees of municipal and county governments, most of them associated with the LIFE AFTER COAL PL project, will be able to improve their competencies and skills. The study program has been tailored to the current professional needs of Climate Advisors. Thanks to lectures and practical classes, participants will have the opportunity to learn, among other things, about new technologies in the use of RES, ways of energy modernization of buildings, sources of pollution, evaluation of the most economically viable pro-environmental investments, principles of conducting energy audits or ways of preparing integrated plans for energy, transport and climate in local governments. <\/p>\n\n

The inauguration of the postgraduate program was attended by Jacek Boguslawski <\/strong>– Member of the Board of Directors of the Wielkopolska Region, Prof. Ph.D. Piotr \u015al\u00f3sarz<\/strong> – Pro-rector for studies, Maciej Sytek<\/strong> – Plenipotentiary of the Board of Directors of the Wielkopolska Region for the restructuring of Eastern Wielkopolska, and President of the Board of Directors of the Company Regional Development Agency S.A. in Konin, Prof. Ph.D. Eng. <\/strong>Klaudia Borowiak<\/strong> – Dean of the Faculty of Environmental and Mechanical Engineering, Anna Szymczak-Graczyk, Associate Professor, Vice Dean For Studies <\/strong>Department of Environmental Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, representatives of municipal and county governments, lecturers and the LIFE AFTER COAL PL project management team functioning within the Department of Environmental and Climate Management of UMWW in Pozna\u0144.<\/p>\n\n

According to an announcement by Jacek Boguslawski, Member of the Board of Directors of the Wielkopolska Region <\/strong>-. The project activities primarily aim to accelerate the decarbonization of the energy sector, develop a closed-loop economy, modernize and develop energy-efficient and zero-emission housing stock, and support the transportation sector to increase the use of green energy sources. The assumed effects of the project are a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, significant improvements in air quality, and increased energy efficiency and use of renewable energy sources. At the same time, project activities will support the process of equitable transformation, with measures to improve and preserve the environment <\/em>.<\/p>\n\n

Meanwhile, according to Maciej Sytek, Plenipotentiary of the Board of Directors of the Wielkopolska Region for the restructuring of Eastern Wielkopolska and President of the Board of Directors of the Company Regional Development Agency S.A. in Konin, <\/strong> – the key action of the LIFE AFTER COAL PL project is the implemented network of Municipal and District Climate Advisors, aimed at supporting residents and entrepreneurs, among others, in the field of replacing non-ecological and outdated heat sources, as well as improving the energy efficiency of buildings <\/em>. <\/p>\n\n
