It was developed by the Wielkopolska Spatial Planning Office in Poznan in cooperation with the Stanislaw Staszic Academy of Mining and Metallurgy in Krakow under the supervision of the Department of Environmental and Climate Management of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship Marshal&#8217;s Office in Poznan.    <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key findings of the energy balance<\/h3>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eastern Greater Poland:<\/h4>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The main energy carrier is lignite, which makes the subregion remain an exporter of electricity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Final energy consumption is dominated by petroleum derivatives, mainly used in transportation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The share of renewable energy sources (RES) in final consumption was about 15%.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>24.9% of electricity and heat came from RES.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Final energy consumption per capita in 2022 was 64.3 GJ. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Kalisz:<\/h4>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>About 33% of final energy was consumed by industry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The share of RES in final consumption was 8.5%.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heat and electricity were mainly produced from coal (RES share: 7.0%).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Final energy consumption per capita in 2022 was 72.3 GJ. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ostr\u00f3w Wielkopolski:<\/h4>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>41.0% of final energy was consumed in housing, 19% in industry, and 9.0% in services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The share of RES in final consumption was 12.3%.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>RES accounted for 23.8% of heat and electricity production, mainly through biomass combustion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Final energy consumption per capita in 2022 was 45.9 GJ. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">W\u0105growiec:<\/h4>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>About one-third of final energy was consumed in housing, and 12.0% in industry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The share of RES in final consumption was 14.0%.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Final energy consumption per capita in 2022 was 52.6 GJ. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Importance of energy balance<\/h3>\n\n<p>The presented energy balance for 2022 provides a key reference point for monitoring progress in the implementation of the \u201cStrategy for Climate Neutrality of Eastern Wielkopolska 2040.\u201d Subsequent editions of the study scheduled for 2028 and 2031 will allow assessment of the achievement of the goals and possible updating of the strategy in response to changing energy and climate conditions in the region. <\/p>\n\n<div data-wp-interactive=\"core\/file\"
